What is a condenser lens

The most common type of condenser lens is the Abbe condenser, which uses two curved lenses to correct for problems in shape and color caused by light passing through the glass microscope slide. The Abbe lens allows users to see a more accurate representation of the object on the slide and does not interfere with chemical staining processes used to differentiate between different structures under the microscope.
